Fontainebleau History, Napoleon III

This building is the work of the architect François-Alexis Cendrier and was built in 1849.
It was borrowed by Napoleon III when he was President of the Republic. Fontainebleau then began to flourish again.
With Paris nearby, the bourgeoisie began to build large comfortable houses, used mainly as holiday homes.
